LIVERPOOL, New York (WWNY) - The colder the weather, the bigger the utility bill. That’s the message from National Grid.

The utility is out with projections on the price people will pay for electricity and natural gas this winter.

If it’s a standard North Country winter from November to March, the typical electric customer could spend $4 more a month than they are right now.

Natural gas customers could pay $13 more a month.

If you use both, it could be an additional $86 this winter.

Of course, if the winter is colder than usual, those estimates will go up.
