A wanted Massachusetts man who turned himself in this summer is accused of trying to use his surrender to smuggle cocaine into a jail in Dartmouth for a "substantial profit."

The Bristol County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday that 28-year-old Raymond Molina-Caraballo of New Bedford had warrants out for his arrest when he appeared at New Bedford District Court on Aug. 25.

Molina-Caraballo, a former inmate of the Bristol County House of Correction and Jail, was allegedly involved in a scheme that would send him back to the facility with the drugs, according to the office of Sheriff Paul Heroux.
