PLAIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WOIO) - A man is dead and a woman was injured in a domestic violence shooting in Plain Township late Wednesday afternoon.

The shooting happened around 430 p.m. at an apartment building located at 4107 Orchard Dale Drive NW.

Stark County Sheriff Eric Weisburn said a man shot at his partner multiple times with a pistol before turning the gun on himself.

The woman suffered at least two gunshot wounds, but survived, according to Sheriff Weisburn.

She was taken to Aultman Hospital, Weisburn said, but her condition is unknown at this time.

Weisburn confirmed the man is dead.

SWAT members brought the woman’s young daughter out of the apartment and took her to Aultman Hospital to be with her mother, according to the sheriff.

There are no known injuries to the daughter.
