A woman who lives in the same New Britain apartment building as the mother of a 12-year-old girl whose body was found last week spoke on their conversations leading up to the arrests.

Karla Garcia was arrested and charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder in connection with her daughter's death.

Jacqueline Torres-Garcia's remains were found in a plastic storage bin left at an abandoned property on Clark Street in New Britain on Oct. 8.

Kimberly White said she met Garcia when White moved into the building in April. White said her son became friends with Garcia's daughter.
