LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - The Ingham County Sheriff’s Office and Delta Dental are teamed up on Wednesday for a drive-through drug take back event. The annual event allows the community to dispose of unused prescription medications.
The department collected various controlled substances:
Pain relievers
Antidepressants
Sleep Aids
Behavior Modification Medicine
Pet Medications
Cough Medicine
The team disposed of the pills in a secure mobile pill drop box. And, then, will take the collected items to a refinery to be disposed of safely.
Detective Ryan Cramer with the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office says this program is crucial because you never know where these pills could end up.
“The risk with leaving medications in your house that are going to be unused is [them] falling into the wron
