BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Cables containing copper wire were stolen from electric vehicle charging stations on the Cal State Bakersfield campus, according to a court filing. Damage is estimated to be more than $11,000.

The theft occurred around 5:30 a.m. on Oct. 2. A vehicle of interest was spotted on surveillance video driving through the area, the filing says.

The cables were cut with "an unknown tool" from charging stations in Lot M, according to the filing.
