BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- After over 80 years of service, Kern Ice and Cold Storage located off of Union Avenue closed its doors.

After the recent passing of one of its owners, partners decided to close the cold storage facility.

Clients were given a 30-day notice, according to the administrative chief operating officer. The building is in process of going up for sale.

The storage facility held food, produce and more within the 80,000-square-foot facility.
