TOLEDO, Ohio — Stellantis is putting $400 million into the Toledo Jeep Assembly Complex as part of a $13 billion nationwide investment, bringing production of a new mid-sized truck and roughly 900 new jobs to the region.

Tyler Tansel, sales consultant at CR Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram of Adrian, said the new truck fills a key market gap.

"Now we have that vehicle, and the Ford Maverick has been pretty much an uncontested contender out there that nobody, you know, you have to buy a Ford," Tansel said. "So now we have something to compete with the Ford Maverick."

Brian Sims, president of UAW Local 12, said the investment benefits more than just the plant.

“I feel like we're all family, and so that's great news for not just the Jeep plant, but it's some of our suppliers as well," Sims said
