BEAUFORT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - A 12-year-old Bear Grass Charter School student, who lives in Beaufort County, is inspiring his community after donating his entire fishing tournament prize money to the family of a motorcycle crash victim.
Caleb Woolard gave all $90 of his winnings from the Belhaven Trout Tournament to the family of Brandon Batchler, who was killed in a motorcycle crash on Oct. 10 in Beaufort County . Batchler hit a deer on Pungo Creek Road outside of Belhaven.
“We felt bad and had to help him,” Caleb said. “I thought if I won this tournament, I should donate my winnings to him.”
