Airline passengers on domestic flights departing Vancouver International Airport are being asked to check the status of their flights after a gas leak forced the evacuation of YVR’s domestic terminal on Wednesday.
At 2:30 p.m., YVR stated on social media that strong gas smells had been reported throughout the terminal, resulting in evacuations.
At 3:30, the airport reported: “Normal operations have resumed following a smell of gas that was detected in parts of Vancouver International Airport’s domestic terminal. The source of the gas leak has been identified and contained. There could be some minor flight delays as the influx of passengers are processed.”
