MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A man was expected to survive after he was shot by his girlfriend early Wednesday morning at a Frayser apartment complex, police said.

Memphis Police (MPD) said the shooting stemmed from an argument between the man and his girlfriend. Officers were called just after 4:20 a.m. to a shooting at the Pershing Park Apartments off Corning Avenue.

Police said officers arrived to find a man had been shot. He was taken to a hospital but his injuries were not considered life-threatening, MPD said.

Police said the woman left the scene in a car.
