Three Delco boys golfers are headed to states, led by Radnor’s Lannon Boyd.
The senior carded a 2-under 70 at Turtle Creek Golf Course Wednesday, the second day of the District 1 Golf Championships. That put his two-day score at an even-par 144, tying for third place.
In all, 17 boys golfers from District 1 advance to the PIAA Class 3A meet, including Strath Haven’s Eddie Gebhart, who tied for fifth, and Brad McDermott of Radnor, tied for ninth.
The overall title went to Cole Berry of Rustin, who matched his 3-under 69 from Tuesday to finish at 6-under for the tournament. He was four under after five holes on Wednesday, but came back to the field with three bogeys and two birdies the rest of the way. The best round of the tournament’s second day came from Unionville’s Charlie Barrickman
