IBERIA PARISH, La. (KLFY) -- The Acadiana Crime Lab has opened a new 40,000 square foot facility in Iberia Parish, marking a significant advancement in evidence investigation for law enforcement.

"This is such a great improvement, and I think it will be such a great asset to the Acadiana area," said Donald Landry, 15th Judicial District Attorney. "Not only will it help us in convicting people, but it will also exonerate people. And that's what all of this is about, justice."

The new facility includes advanced scientific equipment, expanded lab work rooms and a new firearms lab, all designed to improve the processing and analysis of evidence.

Kevin Ardoin, Director of the Acadiana Crime Lab, praised the new development.
