BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A new investment in skilled trades training is taking shape in the Capital City. Baton Rouge Community College, in partnership with the Lowe’s Foundation, has officially broken ground on the new Capital City Construction Lab, a project designed to strengthen Louisiana’s construction workforce pipeline.

The $850,000 Gable Grant from Lowe’s will fund the new facility on BRCC’s Mid City Campus, expanding opportunities for students in the Construction Management program and introducing hands-on training in plumbing, HVAC and electrical work.
