EMMETSBURG, Iowa (KTIV) — Early voting began Thursday for city council and school elections across the state, with Emmetsburg voters facing a crucial decision on a $25 million bond issue to rebuild their aging elementary school.
The bond proposal, which would relocate the elementary school to a new site, mirrors a similar measure that appeared on last year’s ballot. While that previous bond earned majority support from voters, it fell short of the required 60% supermajority needed for passage.
