CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. — An event in Lackawanna County raising awareness for child hunger.

CHOP Out Hunger is hosting its 'Feeding the Future' dinner at Constantino's near Clarks Summit on Wednesday night.

The organization works to combat child hunger through things like backpack programs and in-school food pantries.

The dinner honoring Ty Holmes, a longtime advocate for children and families and president of the Scranton School Board, "But now I'm also known as the Chop Man. And I love that. That people associate me with an organization that is helping so many kids. Because I once was a kid like this. So for me, it's coming full circle."

CHOP out Hunger serves tens of thousands of children across Pennsylvania each week.
