MONTOUR COUNTY, Pa. — It was fiery at the Montour County Planning Commission meeting Wednesday night over a topic that's top of mind for many folks throughout northeastern and central Pennsylvania: data centers .

"1400 acres, they will put every square inch of that they can under these enormous buildings that suck up all of the groundwater, that use up all the electricity, that pollute all the land,” said Zak Hoffer of Danville.

The folks here are referring to Talen Energy's proposal to rezone a significant portion of land for industrial use right by the Montour Preserve. Some are raising concerns about potential environmental damage.
