BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Behind every name is a story.
For Baton Rouge native Sydney Blalock, part of her story began three years ago at Woman’s Hospital with the birth of her son, Nathan.
Their story is one about love, compassion, and grief.
“He was born at 24 weeks and five days. He was in the NICU for two days and lived for 43 hours,” Blalock said.
Nathan represents the thousands of babies each year who never get the chance to make it home. But his short life inspired a special program at Women’s Hospital to honor families who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss.
The event was titled ‘Light to Remember’. More than 500 names were printed on a shirt in memory of babies who passed away in Baton Rouge over the past year. Each name was also displayed along a trail where families
