SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - The Martin Luther King Junior Center held an event marked 30 years since South Bend men traveled to the nation’s capital to inspire unity on Wednesday night.

We’re talking about the ‘Million-Man March of 1995’.

It was then when over 800,000 African American men from across the U.S. traveled to Washington D-C in one of the largest rallies in the city’s history.

Hosted by the Nation of Islam it was here they addressed problems and promoted unity and revitalization of African American communities.

In South Bend attendees were able to hear stories of those who were present at the historic moment as it unfolded.
