COW ISLAND, La. (KPLC) - Deep in Vermillion Parish, there’s a place called Cow Island with a population of just a few hundred people.
One of them is musician Dustin Dale Gaspard.
“Growing up in Vermillion Parish, it is the most beautiful parish in all of Louisiana, because it’s the gateway to the wetlands and it offers so much; So many beautiful sights and hard-working people,” Gaspard said.
Gaspard’s goal was rather different than much.
“I expected nothing. This is what I thought: if I got up on stage and I sang in Cajun French, that’s all I would ever need for the rest of my life,” Gaspard said.
That dream became a reality, with a four-chair turn on NBC’s “The Voice.”
