A 10-year-old Chihuahua mix somehow found herself stranded on top of a shopping cart in the middle of a canal, soaked, exhausted, and barely hanging on.

Terrified and unsure how to escape, she clung to the cart, waiting for a miracle.

Thankfully, help was already on the way. Both the Phoenix Fire Department and the Arizona Humane Society’s Field Team responded to the emergency call without delay.

A Shocking Sight

A passerby walking along the canal noticed what looked like a strange object floating in the water. But as they looked closer, they realized it was alive.

To their disbelief, it was a small dog, perched helplessly on a waterlogged shopping cart , with no one nearby to help her.

The frightened pup, later identified as Dorothea, caught the bystander’s attention immediately
