GREENWOOD, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Two public safety projects are moving forward near the Greenwood County airport.
Emergency services officials said renovations are currently underway at the Airport Annex building. The project includes adding a new garage designed to house equipment and vehicles for multiple agencies, including EMS and county fire departments.
A second, larger project, the new public safety training center, will be built in an adjacent field, according to county leaders.
The training facility will feature a burn tower and driving pad, providing comprehensive training opportunities for fire crews, police and EMS personnel. Officials said the multi-agency approach will enhance coordination and preparedness across all public safety departments.
