CHICAGO - Loyola legend Sister Jean , whose faith and joy inspired the nation during the school’s 2018 March Madness run, will be laid to rest today at age 106.
Sister Jean Dolores Schmidt, a cherished member of the Loyola community, served as chaplain for the men’s basketball team and became a national figure for her faith, optimism and school spirit.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. at Madonna della Strada Chapel on Loyola's lake shore campus.
The chapel will open at 9 a.m. and seating will be open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. The funeral service will be streamed live in the media player at the top of this story.
