LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Beautiful weather keeps rolling across the state today and will hold strong into the start of the weekend. After that, things take a turn toward a much more active setup as the first in a line of storm systems sweeps in. This system will bring a big swing in temperatures — highs soaring into the low 80s ahead of it, then dropping into the upper 30s once it passes.

Saturday starts off quiet for central and eastern Kentucky, while western parts of the state see storms developing by afternoon. A few of these could be strong or even locally severe. Temperatures will top out in the upper 70s to low 80s statewide, and southwest winds will really pick up, gusting 30 to 35 mph by late day in central and western areas.
