When the Toronto Blue Jays picked up their first playoff series win since 2016 last week, one phrase stood above all in the fanbase’s collective minds.

Joining former Boston Red Sox star David “Big Papi” Ortiz on the Fox postgame show, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. yelled three words that will forever be etched in the minds of many Blue Jays (and New York Yankees) fans. Egged on by Ortiz, Guerrero joined the first-ballot Hall of Famer-turned-commentator to belt out his signature catchphrase that also coincided with the result of the series : “Da Yankees Lose!”

But after falling behind 2-0 in their next series against the Seattle Mariners, seeing “ Da Blue Jays lose” tweets quickly turned the phrase around on Guerrero and his teammates.
