SPARTANBURG, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The South Carolina Attorney General’s Office said a Spartanburg man is facing charges for the exploitation of a vulnerable adult.
Willie Herndon, 68, is accused of taking more than $10,000 from the victim’s bank account between March 2024 and February 2025.
Herndon also deposited the victim’s Veterans Affairs pension check into a bank account under false representation and used the money for his personal purposes.
The victim was a resident of an assisted living facility in Spartanburg County.
Herndon is charged with exploitation of a vulnerable adult, breach of trust with fraudulent intent, and crimes against a financial institution. He has been booked into the Spartanburg County Detention Center.
