President Donald Trump’s move to pay active-duty troops during the government shutdown was met with bipartisan support — but some Republicans are still voicing concerns.

Trump directed the Pentagon to use “all available funds” on Saturday to ensure that active-duty troops are paid during the shutdown that has now entered the 16th day. While many Republicans supported Trump’s move, Fox News reported that other members of the GOP have warned of more shutdown risks to come.

Fox News also noted that Trump’s decision to use funds to pay military troops may alleviate the urgency to end the shutdown.

“It’s sad that Democrats are using President Trump’s good graces to drag this shutdown on even longer,” a senior House GOP aide told Fox News Digital when speaking about military pay.
