RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) -- North Carolina's pothole season is just around the corner, but one Raleigh driver is getting an early taste of it — already paying the cost for crumbling roads.
Hundreds of vehicles drive down New Bern Avenue every day. It's part of Morgan Thompson's usual path home but earlier this week his typical drive became atypical as he exited I-440 eastbound onto New Bern Avene
"I heard a loud thud and immediately pulled over, right over there and noticed oil just spilling out everywhere," Morgan Thompson told CBS 17.
That thud was the sound of his car driving over a chunk of concrete and hitting his oil pan.
Thompson's oil spill was still visible on the road days after the incident, as are other pieces of broken concrete and potholes.
The damage to his vehicle added up
