Dengue cases in Manipur have witnessed a sharp rise, with 102 new infections reported across six districts on Thursday, according to the Health and Family Welfare Department.
The department’s latest report revealed that 2,585 people have tested positive for dengue in the state so far this year, with one fatality reported from Bishnupur district. The cases were detected between January 1 and October 12, out of a total of 6,093 samples tested.
Officials said dengue infections in 2025 have surged by 91 per cent compared to the same period last year. In 2024, the state had recorded 1,353 cases during this timeframe — marking a spike of 1,232 cases this year.
