PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A popular restaurant manager and chef on Federal Hill is currently in a medically induced coma after a crash in Providence last week.
On Oct. 10, police said they were called to the area of Smith and Meridian streets around 10:15 p.m. for a report of someone needing medical aid.
Upon arrival, first responders found 47-year-old Dino DiFante lying on the road bleeding from his face.
Federal Hill Commerce Association President Rick Simone said DiFante works at Trattoria Appia.
The police report said DiFante was riding his Vespa scooter on Smith Street and lost control when he swerved to avoid hitting a vehicle that had pulled out into the road.
