Around 100 firefighters have rushed to tackle a huge fire at a shop in London where a tube station has been closed. ‌

The London Fire Brigade said the fire broke out at a ground floor shop with flats above in Forest Hill, and those nearby have been advised to keep windows and doors closed due to smoke, reports the Mirror. ‌

Footage from the scene shows towering flames and a huge plume of smoke rising from the building, with firefighters battling the fire from multiple angles. A 32-metre turntable ladder is being used as a water tower to tackle the blaze from above. ‌

A 25-metre cordon is in place and members of the public are being urged to avoid the area. Significant traffic disruption is expected as crews work to bring the blaze under control.
