Deer Valley heads to Estrella Foothills

At this point, Deer Valley football expects more and tougher obstacles, and the Skyhawks believe they will overcome them.

Take the Oct. 10 home game against Lake Havasu. After three straight road losses, Deer Valley’s gauntlet continued against a 5-1 team on a four-game winning streak.

By the second offensive drive, the Skyhawks were without star wide receiver Coleston Paxton due to a knee injury and by the second quarter senior safety Simon Gonzales was out with an dislocated elbow. Yet, this determined team built a 17-7 halftime lead and held on for a 24-23 victory.
