EUGENE, Ore. - Students at a local school practiced a crucial earthquake drill on Thursday morning, marking an important step in ensuring safety during potential emergencies.
The drill took place on Oct. 16, with students taking cover under their desks to simulate a real earthquake scenario. Principal Dana Burmmett emphasized the importance of communication during such events.
"I do think often about how we communicate in a really quick manner for our families," said Burmmett. "We have a lot of tools for communication. That is something that we as a safety team for our building practice. We do table top exercises, we practice, we have different folks on our safety team responsible," said Burmmett.
