A decade after he raped a disabled woman at her Fall River home and fled Massachusetts, a man was sentenced Wednesday to 6 to 9 years in state prison, according to Bristol District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III’s office.
Fernando Rodriguez, 54, remained at large until 2023, when authorities located him in Washington, D.C., according to a statement from Quinn’s office. He was then arrested and returned to Massachusetts to face charges.
At his sentencing in Bristol Superior Court on charges rape and indecent assault and battery on a person with an intellectual disability, Rodriguez also received three years of supervised probation and must register as a sex offender.
