PARKLAND, Wash. — The family of a young woman who was killed in a crash in Parkland on Wednesday is remembering her as an ambitious and hard-working young woman.

"He shouldn't be out; he shouldn't be free. He took the life of a woman I love very much,” said Gabriel Pangelinan, the boyfriend of Paola Parbol Arredondo, to a judge on Thursday.

Paola Parbol, 20, was killed Wednesday, just before 9:30 a.m., when deputies say a car driven by 47-year-old Donald Rownan crashed into her at the intersection of 112th Street and Ainsworth Avenue in Parkland in Pierce County.

Deputies said they tried to pull Rownan over for a Department of Corrections warrant but that he sped off, and around 30 seconds later, ran through a red light at 80-miles-per-hour, crashing into Parbol’s car.
