A motorcyclist from North Adams, Massachusetts, died in a crash with an SUV in Vermont Thursday afternoon, police said.
Conner Caron, 20, was thrown from his motorcycle at about 3:47 p.m. when it hit a Jeep that was getting ready to enter Route 100 from a side road in Stamford, Vermont State Police said. Caron was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators were looking into what happened, but witness statements suggested that speed was a factor in the crash, police said. The didn't say if the other driver, also from North Adams, could be facing charges or a citation.
Stamford is a small town just north of the border with Massachusetts.
