Friday night’s prep gridiron clash between undefeated St. John Bosco (7-0, 2-0) and Santa Margarita (5-2, 2-0) at Trabuco Hills High School will likely prove pivotal in determining the Trinity League championship race.

St. John Bosco, fresh off a dominant 48-0 victory over Orange Lutheran behind sophomore quarterback tandem of Koa Malau’ulu and Brodie Scheinberg, will face an Eagles squad riding high after their 7-6 victory over powerhouse Mater Dei.

Santa Margarita, led by senior quarterback Trace Johnson (174 passing yards last week) and playmaker Trent Mosley (game-winning touchdown and eight receptions against Mater Dei), seeks revenge after falling to St. John Bosco twice last season — including a heartbreaking 31-29 playoff defeat in the quarterfinals.
