GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - The Haunted Halloween Express is returning to Grand Island starting Friday night, offering fun and scares for the whole family at the Stolley Park Railroad.

The annual Halloween event will feature food trucks, beverages, festive lighting and Halloween sights and sounds along the tracks.

Recreation Superintendent Jeremy Bachmann said the community has played a big role in setting up the event.

“It is cumbersome. There’s a lot of setup and decorations and our staff works out here, you know, the week prior to get everything going and then we also, you know, trying to find volunteers as well as get some food trucks out here for our patrons as well,” Bachmann said.

Bachmann also said the event offers a rare opportunity not found in many towns.
