The council, at its October 14 meeting, took up a couple of items related to the local food and beverage scene, the most significant being the addition of another liquor license to Warren's registry.

At the request of the owners of a new eatery planned for Main Street, Sorelle Off the Lane, the council amended an ordinance limiting the number of Class BV liquor licenses available from 31 to 32.

The owners of the restaurant, which plans to feature Italian fare, had approached the body previously seeking the license. Because the total number issued was limited by ordinance, the council had to adjust the number through the usual two-vote process, which it completed last week.
