NEW DELHI: Three Indians died in a boat accident in Mozambique. Five people, including a Malayali, are missing. The condition of two of the survivors is critical.

There were 21 people on board the boat. 14 are reported to be safe. The accident occurred when the service boat carrying Indian crew to the ship Sea Quest sank. The MR2 tanker 'Sea Quest', built in 2012, was previously known as 'STI Ruby'.

Scorpio Marine Management, which operates the Sea Quest under the Marshall Islands flag, said it was in close contact with the families of the missing crew members and local authorities as rescue efforts continue.

The High Commissioner has issued a helpline number to receive information related to the accident.
