THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Under the influence of northeast monsoon winds and a cyclonic circulation over the Arabian Sea, the state is expected to receive heavy rain for the next four days. The hilly regions of central and southern Kerala are likely to experience the most intense rainfall.
A yellow alert has been issued today for the districts of Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, and Wayanad. Thunderstorms are also likely. Strong winds with speeds between 30 and 40 km per hour are expected. Fishing is prohibited along the Kerala coast. Coastal residents are advised to remain alert due to the possibility of high waves.
