RANDOLPH COUNTY, Mo - A Moberly man is facing Randolph County assault charges following an incident early Wednesday.

According to a probable cause statement, the Randolph County Sheriff's Department responded to a crash just after 3 am. The female occupant of the vehicle stated they had gotten out of a romantic relationship with 22-year-old Alexander Nicholas Tyu McConnell two weeks ago. They had gone for a ride with their significant other when they observed an SUV being driven by McConnell.

McConnell's vehicle allegedly turned around and followed them for approximately six miles. They ended up going down County Road 1345 before reaching a dead end. As they attempted to turn around McConnell's vehicle struck them head-on. The victims claimed McConnell then attempted to confront the
