NATIONWIDE — CONSUMERS WHO RECEIVE A LETTER FROM A JUSTICE OF THE SUPREME COURT, one warning of an investigation, should know that it’s a scam targeting Social Security recipients , CBS News reported on Thursday. The Social Security Administration, which had already been on alert about the scam letters, issued an alert on Oct. 8. The SSA’s Office of the Inspector General has warned the program’s 75 million beneficiaries to be on alert if they receive such a letter claiming to be from the nation’s highest court.
