PORTLAND, Maine — A new family-friendly musical theater production will make its debut at Mayo Street Arts on Friday, Oct 17, and Saturday, Oct. 18.

"Test Kitchen Radio Theater" is the brainchild of Maine native, Shultzie Fay, and famed children's author, Arthur Yorinks, who wrote Hey Al, a Caldecott Award-winning picture book.

The two worked together on Reading Rainbow (before its recent reboot), and are using Yorinks's "The Night Kitchen Theater" as inspiration for delivering stories. The story premiering this weekend is called "Ah-Woo!" It tells the story of a girl who grew up in the woods of northern Maine, playing in cabins, exploring nature, and navigating adventures along the way. Many of the tales of "Ah-Woo!" are inspired by Fay's childhood.
