MAINE, USA — The Maine Bureau of Insurance is warning residents enrolled in Medicare Advantage plans to prepare for changes taking effect in 2026 , as several insurers plan to reduce offerings or leave parts of the state.
Insurance companies will notify members about changes to their coverage, and Mainers receiving a notice of termination should keep the document for their records, the bureau said in a news release Friday.
The bureau did not say how many Mainers would be impacted by these changes.
Members whose Medicare Advantage plans will be discontinued will remain covered through December 31, 2025. Those affected have 90 days after their plan exits the market to choose a new Medicare Advantage or Medicare Supplement plan (Medigap) .
