WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A man killed while riding a city bus has been identified as 54-year-old Reginald Griffith of Wichita, police said Friday.

It happened on Thursday around 3:30 p.m. Police responded to the report of a shooting on a bus near the intersection of Maple and Meridian streets.

When officers arrived, they found Griffith with a gunshot wound to the upper body. He was pronounced dead a short time later.

Police said there were five people on the bus at the time of the shooting, and the bus was moving.

“Kind of scary because you got kids on these buses, you got people going back and forth to work," said Jonathan Slusser, who works nearby. "It’s really scary because this is how people get around.”
