KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — With children spending an average of more than seven hours a day on screens, a new Knoxville program is working to give families an alternative that builds confidence and real-world strength.

KidStrong Knoxville held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, marking the opening of its first location in Tennessee. The center focuses on helping kids grow stronger, more confident, and more connected through play-based physical activity and leadership lessons.

"We start every class with our social, our affirmation, and our social gathering. Our affirmation is 'I am strong. I am brave. I can do this,'" said KidStrong owner Jill Reynolds. "It helps build confidence in our kids that they're looking at every challenge knowing they can get through it."
