ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — The Blair County Food Drive is set to begin soon, with Your Building Center in Altoona already collecting hundreds of non-perishable items to support the effort.

A drive-up food donation event was held Friday afternoon by Your Building Center in Altoona, marking the beginning of a week-long collection to address growing food insecurity in the area. The collected items will be donated during the official food drive.

"We're finding a lot more organizations that need help," Vice President and Director of Marketing for the Blair County Food Drive Cianna Stone said. "For example, we picked up another five organizations this year that we didn't have last year just because of how bad the needs are."
