PEORIA, Ill (WMBD) — A Peoria judge ruled Israel Ruiz, 41, will remain behind bars until he stands trial for stalking charges involving his ex-girlfriend.
Ruiz, appeared in Peoria County Circuit Court on charges of residential burglary and aggravated stalking, felonies that could send him to prison for up to 15 years.
Ruiz was arrested on about a dozen charges on Oct. 15, 2025. The additional charges include three counts of violating an order of protection, three more for unauthorized recording, possession of a controlled substance, harassment through telecommunications and an apparent earlier theft.
