PHOENIX — A man has been sentenced to life in prison for murdering his girlfriend in Phoenix in 2022 in a domestic violence-related shooting, according to the Maricopa County Attorney's Office.

Jermaine Houston, 40, was convicted of the following:

First-degree murder

Kidnapping

2 counts of aggravated assault

2counts of misconduct involving weapons

The deadly shooting happened in April 2022 near 27th Avenue and Glendale. Four children were in the home at the time of the shooting.

According to MCAO, a friend of the victim had come to the home to help her pack her belongings so that she could leave Houston.
